At St Augustine’s, we are ambitious about supporting our pupils to develop their understanding of healthy relationships and the knowledge, skills and understanding to lead confident, healthy and independent lives. Through being a healthy school, we aim to support the attainment, achievement and happiness of all of our pupils, staff and the wider school community.
All children and young people have a right to be healthy and to achieve at school and in life. As a Healthy Schools Bronze award school, we provide opportunities for enhancing emotional and physical aspects of health that will lead to improved health, reduced health inequalities and increased social inclusion, which will raise achievement for all.
Healthier children do better in learning and in life. By enabling our children to make positive changes to their behaviour regarding health and wellbeing, we can help them reach their full potential in terms of achievement and fulfilment. We also encourage good habits that will benefit children and young people both now and in the future.
In addition to our wide ranging and diverse PSHE curriculum, we provide opportunities across the school day for children to develop the knowledge, skills and attributes they need to keep themselves healthy and safe in today’s world.
