Letters and other Important Information

Pupils are encouraged to engage in reading for a minimum of 20 minutes per day. We encourage our parents to make a comment in their child’s Home Reading Record so that their teachers can see what they have been reading at home.

Times Table Rockstars

At St. Augustine’s CE Primary School, we actively promote the use of technology to support learning and children’s engagement in mathematics. Children have been highly motivated to use these programs to enhance their fluency, reasoning, and problem-solving skills in math at home.

“Times Table Rock Stars” is a programme that allows children to improve their confidence and fluency with multiplication tables and related division facts. The programme targets children with multiplication tables that match their ability, and they are encouraged to play various games to earn coins. These coins can then be used to upgrade their Rock Star Avatars. As a school, we encourage inter-class and family battles to foster fluency and add a competitive edge to the game. Children have been provided with login details and are encouraged to play the game regularly at home.
